Angela Claireen Hanchett was born Jan. 26, 1964, in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Gary and Connie Hanchett. She grew up in the Deep River area and graduated from DR-M High School in 1982.
On July 30, 1982, she married Randy Smith in Oskaloosa. They later divorced. Together they had two daughters Alisha and Amanda.
She received her nursing degree from Kirkwood Community College. Angie worked as an registered nurse and office manager at the North English Family Practice for 19 years. She enjoyed working with plants and lambs, riding her Harley, shopping and spending time with her family and friends. Angie died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at her home near Kinross, at the age of 50 years.
She is survived by her fiance, Paul Duello and his children of Kinross; her daughters, Alisha (Quinten) Tompkins of Chicago and Amanda (Chad) McDonnell of Omaha, Neb..; her parents, Gary and Connie Hanchett of Deep River; a brother, Craig (Jeannette) Hanchett of Oskaloosa; two sisters, Renee (Dave) Wilhite of Millersburg and Rita (Dirk) Alspach of Sigourney; 11 nieces and nephews; a great-niece and a great-nephew; a grandmother, Doris Hanchett of Sigourney; many aunts and uncles; and her cocker spaniel, "Wilbur."
Angie will be greatly missed. She was loved by her family and friends and will forever be in our hearts.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 2, at the Powell Funeral Home, North English. Pastor Dirk Alspach will officiate. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
