Angela Denise Weeks, 62, of Hiawatha and formerly of Ottumwa died at 12:59 p.m. April 23, 2025 at Unity Point – St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born March 20, 1963 in Ottumwa to William Marlowe and Rosemary May Robinson Weeks.
Angela was a 1982 graduate of Ottumwa High School where she ran track and enjoyed art. She had worked at Excel, Wanna’s Wan Ton Inn and APAC in Ottumwa. Angela attended Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids where she became a dental assistant and worked at Spring Valley Dental in Cedar Rapids and since 2013 she has worked at Safelite as a customer service representative.
Angela attended Bethel AME Church in Cedar Rapids where she was a class leader, and had attended Mount Zion Church in Ottumwa. She enjoyed writing poems, listening to music and planning family events. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving is her daughter, Kanisha Weeks (fiancé, Darious Pledge) of Cedar Rapids; 2 grandchildren, Kiaria Pledge and Kamira Pledge; 2 brothers, Bill Marlowe (Michelle) Weeks Jr. and Duane Ewing both of Ottumwa; a niece, Kailee (Caleb) Summers; 2 nephews, Blake Weeks (Chelsea) and Joshua Weeks (Senija); great nieces and great nephews, Cadynce Summers, Krisalyn Summers, Caleb Summers Jr., Anisa Weeks, Rosette Weeks, Jensen Weeks, Patience Weeks and Kobe Street.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Keith Wesley Ewing.
Visitation will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday May 4th at Reece Funeral Home with family present to greet friends from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday May 5th at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Jeff Hendred officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to her family for her grandchildren.
