Donna Young Andrews

Donna Marie (Young) Andrews, of Richardson, Texas, passed away after a lengthy illness on Oct. 23, 2011, surrounded by her family.

Donna was born June 21, 1931, to Philip and Edith (Brackett) Young of Blairstown, Iowa. She married Harold Dean Andrews, also of Blairstown, and lived in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids, where Harold worked for Collins Radio/Rockwell. They were transferred to Richardson, Texas in 1973. Donna worked for Sears for over 30 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold Dean in 1985; her brother, Robert “Bud” Young, and sister, Linda Young, of Iowa City; and brother, James P. Young of Albuquerque, N.M.

She is survived by her children, Lynn Fox, Wendy Swim and Cristi Ryan; sons-in-law, Phil Swim and Kevin Ryan; and five grandchildren, all of Texas.

In addition she is survived by Steve and Joey Young, Dixie and Wayne Walker, Don and Margaret Andrews of Iowa City, Cherie and Jeff Tampir of Maquoketa, Jason Tampir of Camanche and Tricia Tampir of Chicago. In Albuquerque she is survived by Lea Young, Tina Welker and Susie Alcon.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandma and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
