ANDREW TED SMITH
Cedar Rapids
Andrew Ted Smith, born to Nancy Smith (Hoyle) and Lynn Lamb on July 18, 1967, went to the spirit in the sky on Dec. 2, 2020.
After graduating in 1985 from Jefferson High School, he joined the Navy. The boatswain's mate second class veteran served his country in Desert Storm and returned home to find his calling in masonry. Eventually he found a place to call home with Frickson Construction. The man who did not have on enemy in the world could light up a room with his sense of humor. You could count on him for a laugh or sympathetic ear and he was always up for a good time on the dance floor.
Andy is survived by his father, Lynn Lamb; stepfather, Ron (Susan) Hoyle; siblings, Matt (Melissa) Hoyle, Gretchen (Dan) Edson, Aaron Hoyle, Tige (Vickie) Lamb and Tracy (Ryan) Brown; and soul sister, Annie Trenary. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and so many friends whom he treasured like family.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Hoyle; and grandparents, Leo and Billie Smith.
A military funeral will be held at a later date.
