Andrew James Lawrence Lorimer ended his suffering in his earthly life on June 29, 2021. A Celebration of Life will be held July 9 in Groton, Conn., for his Navy family. A local Celebration of Life will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. July 24 at "Sally's On Broadway" in Springville, Iowa. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Andrew is survived by his parents, Rich and Julie Lorimer; brothers, Samuel Lorimer and Jeff Lorimer (Jill); sister, Shelly Lorimer; maternal grandmother, Jean Heese; stepgrandmother, Linda Lorimer; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James S. and Margaret A. Lorimer; and his maternal grandfather and hero, Larry J. Heese.
Andrew was born July 27, 1996, at University Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa. He graduated from Springville High School and was ecstatic to be accepted into the United States Naval Academy, where he graduated with honors and a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was proud to serve his country in the U.S. NAVY, where he served aboard the USS INDIANA as a submarine officer in the capacity of RCA – reactor control assistant. He had reached the rank of lieutenant JG.
Andrew adored spending time with all of his family and friends. No one truly understood the depth of suffering he was experiencing.
