Andrew W. Baumgartner, 76, of Center Point, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at his home on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at Center Point United Methodist Church,
823 Summit St., conducted
by Pastor Mike Ellson.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Baumgartner; children, Tracy (Rob) Milota and Eric (Carla) Baumgartner; grandchildren, Seth (Emilee) Milota, Kacy Baumgartner and Cole Baumgartner; great-granddaughter, Georgie Milota; and siblings, Dan (Sally) Baumgartner, Valerie (Dan) Paris and Dawn Baumgartner Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Andy was born Dec. 26, 1940, in Strawberry Point, Iowa, son of Walter and Beryl (Dunsmoor) Baumgartner. He was a graduate of Strawberry Point High School. On Nov. 10, 1962, Andy and Teresa (Ehrhardt) were united in marriage at St. Sebald Lutheran Church in Strawberry Point. Andy retired from Rockwell Collins after 38 years.
He was a member at St. John's Lutheran Church in Center Point. Andy's main goal in life was to support and be there for his family and that is the legacy that he has left.
