Andrea "Annie" Zimmermann, 29, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died after a tragic accident in Troy Mills on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 24, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 23, at the funeral home.
Burial: Blain Cemetery, Swisher, Iowa.
Survivors include her parents, Bob (Kelly) Himes of Toddville and Jane (Ron) Carson of Swisher; daughter, Alissa Zimmermann, age 4, of Cedar Rapids; her biological mother, Cheryl Abram of Cedar Rapids; siblings,
Mason, Mackenzie and Matt Himes, Scott, Danny (Rosie) and Trisha Abram, Billy (Wendee) Carson and Brittani Sherzer; and special aunt and uncle, Susan and Jerry Bergan and their family.
She was preceded in death by several grandparents; and a special grandmother, Frances Wells, who helped raise her.
Andrea was born Dec. 10, 1984, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She worked at Pat McGrath Auto as the warranty administrator. As a friend of Bill W., she changed her life and overcame many obstacles. Annie became a very motivated, confident and spiritual mother, daughter, sister and friend. She married Joe Zimmermann and they later divorced, but together they lovingly raised their daughter.
Annie loved country music and singing karaoke every Friday night. She loved nature, being outdoors and anything that sounded fun. She loved life and everything it had to offer. Annie was a great mother and her daughter was her whole world.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Andrea Zimmerman trust for the benefit of Alissa, c/o U.S. Bank.
