Andrea Marie Kruse, 71, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home on Monday, Jan. 3, 2022, from a short illness. Services: 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Teahen Funeral Home by Penny Ackerman. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Due to concerns over the novel coronavirus, family members and friends are requested to wear a mask to any funeral event.
Andrea is survived by her son, Marc (Erin) Chase Jr. of Cedar Rapids; daughter, Michele (R. Todd) Black of Robins; five grandchildren, Jordan (Tyler) Koch, Lauren - Holly Chase (Derek Kohl), R. Gavin Black, Finn Chase and Gibson Chase; and three great-grandchildren, Jameson, Cassius and Harrison.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Bill Kruse.
Andrea was born on Sept. 25, 1950, in Council Bluffs, daughter of Vernon and Ann Holly Kruse. On Sept. 9, 1970, she married Marc Chase Sr. in Council Bluffs; they were later divorced.
Andrea loved being a grandma and never missed a sporting event of her grandchildren. She was their biggest fan. Andrea was always willing to help when she was needed and adored animals. She was an avid sports fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Pittsburg Steelers and the Chicago Cubs, but she was the world's biggest fan of the Kennedy Cougars.
