Andrea Jean Durm, 50, died surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 13, 2016, in her home.
The daughter of Harold and Phyllis Fiala, Andrea was born May 15, 1966, and grew up on the family farm in Solon, Iowa. She married Troy Durm on Nov. 2, 2015, in their home in Lynchburg, Tenn.
Andrea graduated from Solon High School in 1984 and attended Capri College. She later was employed as a respiratory therapist at Lincoln Medical Center in Fayetteville, Tenn. Andrea was passionate about her work and worked with many people she always called friends.
Survivors include her husband, Troy; sons, Paul Spencer and Blake Johnson; stepchildren, Ashley (Cody) Gass, Justin Durm and Erica Durm; brother-in-law, Greg Durm; sisters, Doreen (Anthony DeTommaso), Paula and Cheryl (Scott Leaverton); her mother, Phyllis; in-laws, Billy and Barbara Durm; granddaughter, Libby Jane Gass; and special friends, Kelley Glover and Maddy Houlihan.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and her father, Harold. Memorials may be made to Sarah Cannon Research Institute, 1100 Charlotte Ave., Suite 800, Nashville, TN 37203.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 16, at Wilson Avenue Church of Christ, 1401 Wilson Ave., Tullahoma, TN 37388. Andrea's body was donated to science.
