Anderson, William 'Bill' L.
William “Bill” L. Anderson, 69, of Grand Mound, Iowa, died unexpectedly of a heart attack Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport, Iowa.
Bill was born March 13, 1943, to Lester and Mary (Chandler) Anderson in Clinton, Iowa. He graduated from Grand Mound High School in 1961. He was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam. Bill was united in marriage to Monica Kinney at SS. Philip and James Catholic Church in Grand Mound, on Nov. 30, 1968. He was a lifelong resident of Grand Mound, where he owned and operated Bill's Conoco and later William L. Anderson Trucking.
Bill will be greatly missed by his wife of 43 years, Monica; children, Alan (Erika) Anderson of DeWitt, and Amie (Michael) Hass of Coggon; grandchildren, Lane, Maria and Scott Anderson, and Ellie and Emilie Hass; and sister, Jane (Gary) Alden of Bettendorf.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bob Miller.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, from 2 to 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Grand Mound. Pastor Toni Brewster will officiate. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Mound. Military rites by Grand Mound American Legion Post #622.
