Anderson, Emma
Emma Anderson, 94, a resident of Manor Care died there Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2013, after a long illness. Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday.
Survivors include two sons, John (Joyce) of Cedar Rapids and James (Janann) of Swisher. She is also survived by six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a daughter, Diane Gardenmann; a sister, Libby Dostal; and a brother, Tony Kudrna
Emma was born June 11, 1919, in Marion, the daughter of Anton and Anna Loukata Kudrna. She married John T. Anderson on June 19, 1936, in Rock Island, Ill. John passed way in 1992.
Emma was the co-owner with her husband of Anderson Towing and Crane Service for over 45 years. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Marion where she participated in the Kitchen Band. Emma loved to entertain, she would go to area nursing homes with the Kitchen Band and play for the residents.
Emma was a very positive person with everything in life. She enjoyed feeding the birds, fishing, gardening, just being with nature. Emma was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
