Amy Nadine Leonard, 85, of Marengo, died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2015, at Rose Haven Nursing Home, Marengo. Per her request, private family services will be Monday, Dec. 28, with the Rev. Matt German officiating. Burial:
Koszta Cemetery, rural Marengo.
A memorial fund has been established.
Kloster Funeral Home, Marengo, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Celebration of Life services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at Marengo American Legion Hall, with Chaplain Boyd Kuester officiating. The family will receive friends after noon Saturday at the Legion Hall.
Nadine is survived by two sons, Max Leonard (Darlene) of Ladora and Kent Leonard (Wendy) of Sigourney; four daughters, Janeen Leonard (friend William West) of Springfield, Mo., Terria Beck (Nathan) of Belle Plaine, Letha Rathjen (Mark) of Williamsburg and Kandi Hathaway (Rob) of Belle Plaine; 13 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her special friend, Frank Egan of Marion; a sister-in-law, Janet Dains of Marengo; and a brother-in-law, Merle Leonard of Marengo; along with numerous extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Maxine Harden Dains; her husband, Marvin M. Leonard; a son, Laran; a brother, Vern "Slug" Dains; a sister, Norma Dains; and her stepfather, Vern Gunderson.
