Amy Lou Garlock, 85, of Winfield, died Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Henry County Health Center in Mount Pleasant.
The daughter of Edgar and Rosamond Clark Miller, she was born Oct. 28, 1931, in Ogden, Iowa. On June 27, 1954, she married Brown Garlock in Ogden. He died April 14, 1997. She graduated from Ogden High School and Drake University with a B.A. in music education. She did some substitute teaching, but was very active and involved throughout the years with Brown's ministry.
She was a member of Winfield United Methodist Church, UMW, PEO, TTT, OES, Red Hat Society and Amitie. Her faith, church, family, friends and music were very important to her.
Survivors include two sons, David Garlock of Winfield and Dennis Garlock of Lebanon, Ohio; two daughters, Sheila Vorba of Cedar Rapids and Lisa Kongable of Mount Union; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma and Mary Ellen.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant son, one sister and two brothers.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 21, at Winfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Randy Moser officiating. Interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Glenwood Cemetery in Ogden. The family will meet with friends one hour before the service on Friday at the church.
A general memorial has been established in her name.
