Amber Ransom, 48, of Floyd died around May 1, 2015, in Mason City. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 11, at Hauser Funeral Home in Charles City. Pastor Forrest Cornelius will officiate. Inurnment will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Floyd following the service. Friends may call one hour before the service Monday at the funeral home.
Amber May Ransom was born Oct. 15, 1966, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of John Ransom and Nancy (Smith) Rosonke. She graduated from Charles City High School in 1985, then continued her education, receiving a degree in accounting.
Amber was an artsy, creative, outgoing, friendly and loving person. Her interests included baking, camping, riding on the boat and crafts.
Living family members include her son, Justin (Gloria) Franklin of Alburnett; two grandchildren, Emma and Aubrey Franklin; a brother, Billy Joe (Sandi) Ransom of Minnesota; two sisters, Crystal (Tim) Fairlie of Marion and Sonya Bosier of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Nancy and Donald Rosonke and John Ransom; a sister, Jewel Beth Colsen; and a nephew, Thomas Horvath.
