Amanda Marie (Mills) Schwertfeger, 32, of Fairfax, passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016. Services: 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at Westdale Community Church, Cedar Rapids, conducted by the Rev. Jeff Bell. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 18, at the church. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her husband, Richard Schwertfeger III; children, Adam, Kylie and Macie; mother, Karen (Bob) Lawrence; father, Anthony Mills; brother, Zach (Shea) Mills; niece and nephew, Peyton and Jaxon Mills; maternal grandmother, Barbara Linehan; father-in-law, Richard Schwertfeger Jr.; grandparents-in-law, Richard Sr. and Sharon Schwertfeger; special sister-in-law, Cheyenne Schwertfeger; and brothers-in-law, Eric and Justin Schwertfeger.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dorothy and Ed Mills; and maternal grandfather, John Linehan.
Amanda was born April 18, 1984, in Decatur, Ill., the daughter of Anthony and Karen (Linehan) Mills. She married Richard at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. Amanda was a devoted and loving mother and was very caring toward others. She was working toward her R.N. degree at Kaplan University. Amanda was very artistic and enjoyed drawing and painting.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family to be used for Amanda's children.
