Allnutt, Jesse L.
Jesse L. Allnutt, 87, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2010, at the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home from complications of Alzheimers disease. Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, Hrabak Funeral Home, Belle Plaine, by the Rev. Jack Andrews. Burial: St. Michaels Cemetery, Norway. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Jesse was born Dec. 23, 1922, in Mooresville, Mo., the son of Granville and Ruth Roberts Allnutt. He served in the United States Navy and United States Marines during World War II earning two Purple Hearts. He was the owner of Tri-State Pump & Windmill Service until his retirement.
He married Naomi Romesburg in the 1940s and had three children, Vicky Williams, Judy Romesburg and Bill Romesburg. They divorced. He married Jane Sears in 1954. They had three children, Kathy Rhoades of Vancouver, Wash., Rick Allnutt of Springfield, Mo., and Steven (Gloria) Allnutt of Norway. He married Connie Burton in 1978.
There are eight grandchildren, Shad Yuska, Nicole Dyba, Bryan Allnutt, Michelle, Jeremy Allnutt, Kerry Barnes, Arron Barnes and Jarred Allnutt.
He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Hill and Myrtle Goodman; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his wife, Connie; parents brothers, Glen, Clifford, Robert, Don and Forrest; and sisters, Rosie, Flora and Patricia; and grandson, Jarred Allnutt.
He lived in Blairstown from 1955 to 1978, on a farm near Watkins from 1978 to 2009, when he moved to the Strawberry Point Lutheran Home. He was a member of the Blairstown American Legion.
Jesse enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casinos and especially his dogs. He was a loving father and grandfather.
