Allen K. Tibodeau, 76,
of Marion, died Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, at Mercy Medical Center. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion where a rosary will be recited at 9 a.m. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Julia; five children, Pam Wild of Marion, Michelle (Paul) Sillman of Cedar Rapids, Janette (Brian) Shea of Chicago, Kevin Tibodeau of Marion and Joshua Tibodeau of Hiawatha; eight grandchildren, Zach, Lauren and Elizabeth Wild, Nick, Jordan and Anthony Sillman and Eleanor and Julia Shea; a sister, Jeanne (Larry) Schuetzle of Cary, Ill.; a brother, Jim Tibodeau of Phoenix, Ariz.; and his dogs, Charlie and Sophie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Shirley Baker.
Allen was born Dec. 13, 1937, the son of Kenneth and Mildred (Willette) Tibodeau in Brush Creek, Minn. He grew up and graduated from high school in Blue Earth, Minn. Allen received his bachelor's from Mankato State in Mankato, Minn., and his MBA from the University of Santa Clara in Santa Clara, Calif. He was a software engineer for 30 years at Rockwell Collins. After retirement, Allen looked forward to his weekly gatherings with his former colleagues.
Allen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Allen enjoyed watching sports, especially the Iowa Hawkeyes. He enjoyed camping with his family and fishing in Canada and Minnesota with his friends. He also enjoyed gardening, tinkering and spending time with his family.
