Allen Ray Bixler, 85, of Olin, died Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2022, in his home with his family around him. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2022, at Olin Community United Methodist Church. The Rev. Jennifer Zoller will officiate. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Sherrie; his sons, Steve (Kim) Bixler of Olin, Iowa, and Tim Bixler of Olin, Iowa; his grandchildren, Beau (Marcy), Andrew (Kandis), Korie (Ryan), Haley (Andrew), Nathan (Matt), Aaron and Seth; his great-grandchildren, Jake, Tucker, Luke, Caleb and Coulter; and his siblings, Don Levsen and Peggy Levsen Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents and his son, David Bixler.
Allen was born Nov. 6, 1937, in Morley, Iowa, the son of Harland and Gerry (Norton) Bixler. He married Sherrie Joan Zimmerman on July 25, 1958, in Olin, Iowa. Allen was a lifelong farmer and a member of Olin Community United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing and watching the Iowa Hawkeye football and women’s and men’s basketball games.
