Allen M. Pedersen, 73, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2014, at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. Per Allen's request there will be no service or visitation. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; son, Mike of Los Angeles; two daughters, Michele (Steve) Lindemann of Hudson, Wis., and Jeni Urban of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Darrell (Yvonne) of Marion and Bob of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Ashley and Anna Lindemann and Madison Urban; and one great-grandchild, Braydon.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carolyn; and his mother-in-law, Emily Lehner.
Allen was born Aug. 22, 1941, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Oswald and Sarah Bruner Pedersen. He married Judith A. Lehner on July 7, 1962, in Cedar Rapids. Commonly known as Pete, he was an entrepreneur at heart. This passion took him from owning car lots, car washes, a travel agency, industrial complexes, and supplying parts for the government. His upholstery career began at 15 at Dean's Auto Trim, at 20, he moved to Tom Shaw's Trim All. He owned and operated Trim All from 1979 to 2008. He was a man who helped many while asking for nothing in return.
He will always be remembered by his family as a loving husband, wonderful father and grandfather who always had a joke to tell or car expertise to share. He will forever be loved and missed by his family.
