Allen Lloyd Remling, 83,
of Manchester, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021, at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester. He was born on May 1, 1938, on a farm near Manchester, the son of Allen Floyd and Ruth Josephine (Fierstine) Remling. Al attended rural country Delaware County schools and then was a graduate of Buck Creek High School in 1955. He then attended and graduated from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls.
Al was employed by Quaker Oats in Cedar Rapids as an administrative manager. He was transferred to many other Quaker Oats locations including: New Bedford, Mass., Chicago, Ill., Decatur, Ala., Sherman, Texas, Jackson, Tenn., and Memphis, Tenn. After his retirement from Quaker Oats, Al sold Combined Insurance and worked for the Memphis Police Department. Al returned to Manchester after his retirement.
Al was always involved with the United Methodist church in all of the communities he lived in. He was also a loyal volunteer for the Red Cross and the Boy Scouts of America.
When he returned to Manchester, Al was instrumental in restarting the Castle Theater and was the first president of the theater board. Al enjoyed leading Bible study groups at church.
Survivors include his sister, Rosalie Dee Anne (Brian) Deal of Urbana; many cousins; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Al was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Charles John Remling and Robert Clair Remling.

Memorial Service: 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at United Methodist Church in Manchester, Iowa, with the Rev. Phil Rogers and Rev. Mary Green presiding.
Visitation: 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, at United Methodist Church in Manchester, Iowa.
Inurnment: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
