Allen James McEnany, 74, of Litchfield Park, Ariz., formerly of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, March 15, 2018, at Abrazo Hospital, Goodyear, Ariz. Services will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, at Holy Cross Funeral Home, Avondale, Ariz.
He was born Sept. 11, 1943, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Allen graduated from Regis High School in 1961. He enrolled in the Army, where he served for two years. He then went to work for Collins Radio until he became a firefighter for the city of Cedar Rapids. He eventually became a fire marshal until his retirement in 1999. He married the love of his life, Sandy, in 1975. They were married for 42 years. They lived in Cedar Rapids until 2012, when they relocated to Litchfield Park to be closer to family and nice weather. In his retirement, Al enjoyed playing cards, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sandra; children, Kimberly Phillips (Mike), Connie Emmons (Mark) and Ann Galvin (Beau); a sister, Shirley McCullough (Bob); and grandchildren, Carissa Pietzsch, Cassandra Phillips, Kelsey Pietzsch, Daniel Phillips and Cameron Galvin.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Lucille McEnany; a brother, Clarence McEnany; and sisters, Beverly Ford and Mary Jo Barnes.
