ALLEN HALL
Central City
Allen E. Hall, 62, of Oskaloosa, formerly of Central City, died Sunday, Sept. 7, 2014. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at First United Methodist Church, Central City, by the Rev. Josh Hansen. The family will greet friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Blodgett Cemetery, rural Central City.
Survivors include his son, Andrew Hall of Cedar Rapids; sister, Mary Berry of Washington, Pa.; brothers, Bill Hall of Cedar Rapids and Owen (Mary) Hall of Central City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Allen was born June 6, 1952, the son of William C. and Elizabeth (Eiler) Hall. He was a sports writer for the Oskaloosa Herald and the Cedar Rapids Gazette and won various awards for his articles.
