ALLEN BICKAL

Allen L. Bickal, 55, of Coralville, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, July 18, 2017. A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Al's life will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. A time of sharing will conclude the visitation and begin at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Allen Bickal Memorial Fund.
Al was born Feb. 3, 1962, in Vinton, Iowa, the son of Albert and Millie (Bergen) Bickal. He was a 1981 graduate of East Buchanan High School. Al married Kelly Baird on March 28, 1998, in Coralville. Al proudly worked for the Iowa Medical Classification Center in Coralville and recently just received his 10-year certificate.
Al was a very talented artist and musician and both played a very large part in his life. Al played in numerous bands over the years. He also was an avid fisherman, hunter (who never missed opening day of squirrel season), loved to sing karaoke and loved animals, especially his dog, Bud. Al would do anything for anyone.
He will be dearly missed.
Survivors include his wife, Kelly, of Coralville; his mother, Millie Bickal of Coralville; his children, Ashley (Bill) Stukey of Riverside, Mark (Kelly) Bickal of Amana, Sydney (Ty Espinoza) Bickal of Coralville and Shelby (Joey Kebschull) Bickal of Tiffin; a stepdaughter, Lisa Jarrett of North Liberty; a brother, Mike (Frances) Bickal of Bristol, Va.; a sister, Mary Grant of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren; his ex-wife, Julie (Mark) Zuber of Marengo; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Al was preceded in death by his father, Albert; a brother, Gordon; and a sister, Becky.
