Allen Ward Baugh, 85, of Central City, died Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2014, at his home. Memorial services: 10 a.m.
Friday, Sept. 26, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City. Visitation will be one hour before the service at the funeral home. There will be no burial at this time.
Survivors include four children, Toni Kerkman of Indianapolis, Jerry (Linda) Baugh of Lake City, Fla., Mark (Linda) Baugh of Brooklyn, Iowa, and Bonnie (Dick) Bowers of Center Point; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grand-children; numerous nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Neva Cawthorne.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dennis Baugh; three sisters, Martha, Francis and Dulcie; and three brothers, Joe, Russell and Bob.
Allen was born March 16, 1929, the son of Alva and Golda "Elizabeth" (Ward) Baugh in Marshall, Mo. He graduated from Iowa City High School in 1947. Allen was a farmer. He also worked at Iowa Steel Iron Works from 1950 to 1960 and at Wilson's from 1960 to 1973. Allen loved square dancing and bowling.
