Allan Herman Doehrmann was born Feb. 1, 1936, in rural Williamsburg, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Lillie (Glandorf) Doehrmann. He graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1954. Allan was united in marriage to Marcella Lucille Maas on Aug. 15, 1958, at St. John Lutheran Church near Homestead. They were blessed with six children. Allan had lived in the Williamsburg community all of his life, where he farmed and worked at Kinze Manufacturing for many years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, where he served as an elder for six years and church secretary for 12 years. He enjoyed singing in the church choir and being involved in the Hilltoppers. He served on the Lutheran Interparish School board for six years and the Williamsburg Planning and Zoning Committee. He enjoyed playing fast pitch softball, playing cards, fishing, family picnics and watching his children's and grandchildren's activities. Allan passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg at the age of 82.
Allan is survived by six children, Doug (Charlene) Doehrmann and Roger Doehrmann, all of Williamsburg, Vicky (John) Coyne of Verona, Wis., Karen (Dave) Stadtmueller of Cedar Rapids and Kenton (Kim) Doehrmann and Brad (Dawn) Doehrmann, all of Williamsburg; 18 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, LaVerne (Bob) Brandt of Reedsville, Wis., two brothers, Don (JoAnne) Doehrmann of Williamsburg and Gerald (Teri) Doehrmann of Minier, Ill.; and a sister-in-law, Jan Malloy.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcella; and a brother, Gene.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Williamsburg. Pastor Tom Ogilvie will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at Powell Funeral Home in Williamsburg. A memorial fund has been established for St. Paul Lutheran Church and Lutheran Interparish School.
