Alice Muller, 95, died Wednesday evening, Nov. 22, 2023, at the Premier Estates of Muscatine surrounded by her family.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monticello. Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Alice and her family into their care. Online condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.
Surviving are three children, Lynn (Kathy) Muller, Molly Haag and Vicky Muller; three grandchildren, Lyndy (Heath Reed) Muller, Bob (Jennifer) Haag and Bart (Talitha) Haag; two stepgrandchildren, Graig Miller and Karah (Adam) Baier; six great-grandchildren, Deyvin Miller, Rebecca, Kaitlyn and Allison Haag, and Duncan and Dominic Haag; five stepgreat-grandchildren, Kaycee and Kylee Murray, Kinlee Baier, Hayden Mena and Noah Wentworth; and her sister Grace Carney.
She was preceded by her parents, her husband Robert in 2000, her son-in-law William Haag, and siblings, Isabell Michael, Ellen Mausser, Rose Blood, Bob, John and Richard Mausser, in-laws Ruth Mausser, Leonard Michael and Jim Carney.
Alice Mausser was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Fillmore, Iowa. She was the daughter of John and Ellen (Rowan) Mausser. Alice graduated from Walker High School. She went on to attend Paris Beauty Academy in Cedar Rapids. She married Robert Muller on Nov. 21, 1950, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Manchester. She worked as a hairdresser in Independence before the couple moved to Monticello. She continued her beauty business in Monticello and worked as an aide at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was always on hand to be Bob’s carpenter assistant.
She enjoyed the time spent with all her family, from large family gatherings to the times spent with her immediate family and all the laughter that came with it. She also enjoyed the time spent riding horses with Bob.
