Alice Louise Patten, 91, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Dec. 21, 2018, at her home. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Alice was born April 5, 1927, the daughter of Ray and Wilma (Jones) Bates, in Eldon, Iowa. She was married to Fred C. Patten Jr. on Aug. 28, 1969. Alice worked for Rockwell Collins for 25 years before retirement.
She and Fred stayed active with trips to Tama to play bingo. Alice was part of a bowling league in Cedar Rapids, and had a great love of dogs, especially her pet companion, Gabby. She was a wonderful wife and aunt and will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Patten; niece, Rae (Max) Diers; and two great-nephews, Jesse (Holly) Diers and Jarod Diers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Jeanne Saches and Doris Carlo.
