Alice Hennessy, 93, of Cedar Rapids, passed away at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a short illness, surrounded by family.
Services will be 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2018, at All Saints Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 to
8 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home on Monday, Aug. 27, with a vigil prayer service at 5 p.m. Visitation also will be held at 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the church.
Survivors include her children, Jim (Mary) Hennessy, Steve (Beth) Hennessy and Mary Jo (John) O'Connell; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Paul Kremer, the Rev. Fr. John Kremer and Jim Kremer; and an extensive extended family.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Susan (Neisen) Kremer; husband, Robert "Bob"; brother, Cletus Kremer; and sister, Mary Schubert.
Alice was born Feb. 2, 1925, in Black Hawk County. She met Bob and they were married on Sept. 8, 1951, in Waterloo. Alice worked in food service for All Saints School and Cedar Rapids community schools for multiple years. She was a member of the DAV Auxiliary and St. Ann's Circle at All Saints, and a volunteer at Mercy Hospital and All Saints Catholic Church.
The family would like to extend a special thank-you to the doctors and nurses at Mercy Medical Center for the wonderful care shown to Alice.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be directed to All Saints Catholic Church in Alice's name.
