Alice A. Holub, 84, of Center Point, Iowa, died Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023. A visitation will be held from 2 to 4:30 p.m., with a Rosary to begin at 4:30 p.m., on Sunday, Nov. 5, 2023, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Center Point. Funeral Mass will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6, 2023, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Walker, Iowa. Burial will follow at Center Point Cemetery.
Alice was born April 17, 1939, in Walker, the daughter of Arthur and Matilda (Bednar) Berry. She graduated from Walker High School, Class of 1957. Alice was united in marriage to William “Bill” Holub on Aug. 4, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. On March 1, 1970, Bill and Alice purchased and moved to a farm in Center Point. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sacred Heart Women’s Guild, and the Greens Grove Sewing Circle. Alice loved watching college basketball, cooking shows, and occasional trips to the casino. She enjoyed wintering in Arizona for many years. Above all else, Alice cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Cheryl (Jon) Glaser of Clive, Iowa, Gregory (Teresa) Holub of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and Karen Holub of Gilbert, Ariz.; six grandchildren, Emily (Zach) Rossin of Overland Park, Kan., Elizabeth (Nate) Johnson of Clive, Marissa Holub of Cedar Rapids, Ryan Holub of Marion, Spencer Holub of Fort Myers, Fla., and Dylan Holub of Iowa City; four great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Jack, Cameron, and Stella; sister, Wilma (Floyd) Heck of Walker; sisters-in-law, Mary Kruse and Phyllis Rausch; and brothers-in-law, Russell Kuhn, Lary (Suzanne) Holub, and Gary Holub; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; parents, Arthur and Matilda Berry; brother, Donald Berry; sisters, Anna Mae Michael and Marie Kuhn; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
