Alex S. Salow, 23, of Delhi, Iowa, died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018. Visitation: 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018, at Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Manchester, Iowa. Funeral service: 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 15, 2018, at St. John's Catholic Church, Delhi, with visitation one hour prior at the church. Burial: Evergreen Cemetery, Delhi.
Alex was born Feb. 8, 1994, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Scott "Chip" Salow and Sherri (Klinger) Salow. He was a 2012 graduate of Maquoketa Valley High School. Alex worked for Paladin Attachments, Alpla in Iowa City, and most recently, Julian Schnittjer Trucking in Delhi. He was a member of the Oxford and Delhi fire departments. Alex was full of life. He loved boating on Lake Delhi, being with family and having fun with friends. He enjoyed his job; he was always busy "tinkering" on projects. Alex liked country music, serving on the fire department, and most especially his dog, Shadow.
Alex is survived by his parents, Scott "Chip" Salow and Sherri (Robert Wright) Salow, both of Delhi; sisters, Kelsey (Nick) Carey of Gulfport, Miss., and Caitlin Salow of Delhi; great-grandmother, Catherine Rennekamp of Iowa City; aunts and uncles, Doran Salow, Mark (Kathy) Salow, Wendy (Al) Kruse, Ron Klinger Jr., Christy Klinger, Dallas (Chris) Carey and Stephanie Klinger; and many other relatives.
Alex was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Walter and Amber Salow; maternal grandparents, Fran Klinger and Ronald Klinger Sr.; and aunts, Patricia Boardman and Christine Meader.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Maquoketa Valley Dollars for Scholars and/or the Delhi Fire Department.
