Alessio Jr., Louis F.
Louis F. Alessio Jr., of Independence, formerly of Oelwein and Camanche, died Wednesday evening, June 1, 2011, at West Village Care Center, Independence. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 6, at St. John's Catholic Church, Independence, with the Rev. Aloysius J. Vorwald officiating. Inurnment: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein, with graveside military honors. Friends may call from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, where a rosary will be recited at 3 p.m.
He is survived by his three children, Jacqueline (Chris) Smith, Las Vegas, Nev., Nancy Alessio, Independence, and Tim (Nancy) Alessio, Lehigh, Fla.; seven grandchildren: Tammi Robson, Waterloo, Rhett Robson, Julie (Brian) Guinan, and Ryan Robson, all of Hesperia, Calif., Bridget (James) Joyce, Walker, Jennifer Kolthoff, Independence, and Matt Sherrets, Quasqueton; three stepgrandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 18 stepgreat-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
