Aldrich, Amy Marie MacDougall
Amy Marie MacDougall Aldrich, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Oct. 29, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jay Jentink. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time at the funeral home on Saturday. Burial: Center Baptist Church Cemetery, Lansing.
Survivors include her six children, Judy (Ken) Buch, Wendell (Mary), Stanley (Doris), Wayne, Betty (Gary) Karkosh and Donna (Mark) Anderson; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and three great-great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Aldrich.
Amy was born in Oklee, Minn., on July 28, 1921, the daughter of Gordon and Lillian MacDougall. She married Harold Aldrich on June 2, 1941, in Maryland. They were married for 69 years. They moved to Lansing, Iowa, and in 1953 came to Cedar Rapids. She and Harold were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church. She was a full-time homemaker, then worked as a secretary for the Gordon Fennell Co. in Cedar Rapids, City Hall and later for Washington High School.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Amy Aldrich Kenyan Orphan Memorial Fund or Center Baptist Church Cemetery in Amy's memory.
