Alderson, Michael Lavern
Michael Lavern Alderson, son of Wayne Lavern and Charlotte (Blunt) Alderson, was born Feb. 25, 1961, at Manchester, Iowa. He attended Starmont High School. He was united in marriage with Kristina Moore on March 8, 1980, and later divorced. Michael has been employed by Walmart for the past 12 years as an assembler.
A resident of Anamosa, Michael's death occurred at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City on Sunday, July 17, 2011. He was 50 years old.
Among his many interests, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, music, nature and being outdoors, and spending time with his family.
He is survived by one son, Michael Alderson of West Union; one daughter, Erica Alderson of Fredericksburg; three grandchildren; his father, Wayne Lavern Alderson of Strawberry Point; one brother, David Alderson of Strawberry Point; one niece; and one nephew.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Charlotte.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4 until 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 22, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point. No further services are planned at this time. Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Strawberry Point are assisting Michael's family.
