Alice was born in Cresco, Iowa on July 26, 1929, the daughter of Harold and Eva (Frank) Eaton. She grew up in Cresco and graduated from Cresco High School. On Sept. 11, 1946, Alice married Raphael “Bud” Albertson (recently celebrating their 67th anniversary this past September). Alice, Bud and their family moved to Iowa City in 1966 and that same year, Alice went to work for the Johnson County Visiting Nurses Association, where she continued her employment for over 21 years, retiring in 1987.
Alice was a wonderful wife, mother and friend who had many hobbies and interests. She enjoyed golfing, shopping, flowers and was known for the pride she took in cleaning her house! She also truly loved spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also a longtime member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, former president and longtime member of the St. Wenceslaus Altar & Rosary Society, served as the lay representative for the St. Wenceslaus Consultation of Religious Communities, and served as volunteer for Mercy Hospital for a number of years. Alice also enjoyed her outings with the IC Red Hats group and the cul-de-sac ladies monthly luncheon.
Survivors include her husband, Bud Albertson of Iowa City; three children, Dianne (Gerald) Bouril of Eldridge, Debbie (Jerry) Lehman of Iowa City and Steve (Deb) Albertson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; a sister, Maurine (Wallace) Vreeman of Rochester, Minn.; and a brother, Harlan (Pat) Eaton of Jacksonville, Fla. Alice is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Amy, Curt, Casey, Kyle, Amber, Erica and Kelsey; and four great-grandchildren, Cooper, Jack, Caiden and Isabella.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Norma Ernst and Lovene Howland; and a brother, Charles Eaton.
