Alberta (Bert) Lee was born in Independence, Iowa on March 26, 1944, and passed away from a short illness in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on December 12, 2024. She grew up, graduated from West Delaware High and lived in the Masonville area until moving to Cedar Rapids in the 1970s.
Alberta was known for being an expert seamstress, her love of gardening (she was well known in the area as the "Flower Lady"), crocheting, painting, and cooking. She loved garage sales, shopping at thrift stores, country music and NASCAR. She cherished her many dogs through the years, Jasmine being her latest fur baby. She was a caring neighbor, friend to many, and loved her family.
Per Alberta's request a private family service will be held at a later date. She has been cremated, and private inurnment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Masonville, Iowa, at that time.
Alberta is survived by her brother, Gary Schaefer (Connie); sisters, Rosemary Roe (Charles), Dona Vontalge (Gary), Dena Fischer (Arden), Nancy Roe (Jeff), many nieces and nephews, dear friends and The Bever Park Gang.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Verla Schaefer.
