Alberta M. (Senninger) Parker “Bert”, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 24th, 2025, at the age of 92. She was surrounded by love and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Born on October 29, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Bert cherished time spent with her family on the family land, lovingly known as “The 80,” creating memories that will be held close forever. She was known for her open-door policy, everyone was welcome, whether stopping by for a visit, a meal, or simply needing a place to land. Her warm smile, honest advice, and unmistakable sassy spirit filled every room she entered. Bert’s home was a place of comfort and laughter, where love was freely given and no one ever felt like a stranger.
She took great pride in being a member of the El Kahir Shrine Women’s Auxiliary. One of her greatest joys was making handmade items for children in the Shriners Hospital, each created with care and compassion. Through these acts of kindness, she brought comfort and smiles to many families during difficult times.
Bert is survived by her daughters Linda (Bill) Tucker of Vinton, Sandy (Brad) Ross of Marion, Sue Parker of Hiawatha, and son Jeff (Lisa) Parker of Cedar Rapids. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren, who will forever treasure her legacy of love and spirit. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom Parker, parents Robert and Bertha Senninger, brothers Bob and Dick Senninger, and great- granddaughter Maxine Vrba.
A celebration of Bert’s life will be held on January 18th at the El Kahir Shrine, 905 Tower Terrace Rd, Hiawatha, IA, 52233, from 1- 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the El Kahir Shrine Women’s Auxiliary.
She will always be remembered and forever missed.
