Albert, Janice M.
Janice M. Albert, 78, of Independence, died Saturday evening, April 24, 2010, at West Village Care Center in Independence following a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with the Rev. Sue Ann Raymond officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and 8 a.m. to service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born March 9, 1932, in Independence, Iowa, the daughter of Edward J. and Elizabeth M. (Frank) Zimmer. She was a 1950 graduate of Independence High School. She was united in marriage to George L. Albert on June 20, 1950, in Independence, where the couple made their home. Janice was employed with the Independence Community Schools as a lunch room aide from 1971 until her retirement in 1994.
She is survived by two children, Kathy (Rick) Krebsbach of Spencer and Ann Marie Schnepf of Independence; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Edward J. Zimmer of Independence.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George on April 14, 2010; a son, Kirk Albert' and two brothers, Robert H. Zimmer and Ronald M. Zimmer.
