Albert Henry “Butch” Beckman, 74, of Coggon, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at his home. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Central City, Iowa.
Butch was born on Feb. 28, 1949, in Oelwein, Iowa, the son of Donald Arthur and Betty Marie (Fox) Beckman. He was a graduate of Central Elkader High School. On June 29, 1968, Butch was united in marriage to Linda Elaine (Matheny) Beckman in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He worked for Iowa Manufacturing in Cedar Rapids, until his retirement in 2011. Butch worked at Walmart in Manchester during his retirement. He loved his motorcycles, grandchildren and basset hounds. Butch enjoyed fishing, collecting guns and riding his Indian. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Butch is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 54 years, Linda of Coggon; children, Joey Beckman of Chicago, Ill., Christie McAtee of Coggon and Travis (Trisha) Beckman of Coggon; grandchildren, Dakota McAtee, Bethany Reiners, Noah McAtee, Kenzie Ratliff, Colton Beckman, Kelsie Denny, Caden Denny, Lily Beckman, Liam Beckman, Airiana Beckman-Visek and Jade Beckman-Visek; and his beloved basset hound, Capone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Betty; and son, Blake, in 2020.
