Alberhasky, Jacqueline Kay (Deeds)
Jacqueline Kay (Deeds) Alberhasky, 63, of Iowa City, died Tuesday, July 12, 2011, from complications associated with ALS. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 15, at Lensing Funeral Home, 605 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Lensing Funeral Home. Following the committal, the family will welcome friends to a luncheon at The Kirkwood Room, 515 Kirkwood Ave., Iowa City (building immediately west of Lensing Funeral Home).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Faith Baptist Church of Iowa City.
Jackie was born to Mervin Eugene Deeds Sr. and Marilyn Jean (Hickman) Deeds on Aug. 2, 1947, in Waterloo, Iowa. She attended West High School and worked toward an accounting degree at UNI in Cedar Falls and a nursing degree at Allen College in Waterloo.
Jackie is survived by her husband, Gary Alberhasky of Iowa City; her four children, Carmen (Keith) Wipf of Evansdale, John (Denise) Alberhasky of Des Moines, David (Donna) Alberhasky of Iowa City and Cindy Parks Alberhasky of Iowa City; a brother, Mervin (Tracey) Deeds Jr. of Ridgely, Tenn.; and a sister-in-law, Eldene Deeds of Waterloo. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Taylor Vansickle of Crystal, Minn., and DeVante Lang, ShaLynn Parks, Alina Alberhasky and Ethan Alberhasky, all of Iowa City.
Jackie was preceded in death by her father, mother, and a brother, Danny Deeds.
Memorials may be directed to Iowa City Hospice or Faith Baptist Church of Iowa City.
