Alber, Eunice E.
Eunice E. Alber, 70, of Independence, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at the Buchanan County Health Center in Independence.
Eunice was born May 29, 1943, in Sumner, Iowa, the daughter of Rheinert G. and Margaret C. (Tegtmeier) Buhr. She was a 1961 graduate of the Maynard West Central High School, and married Allen E. Alber on Aug. 20, 1961, in West Gate. The couple farmed in the Independence area and Eunice worked for Engineered Products Co. in Waterloo for 10 years.
She is survived by her husband, Allen; four children, Gregory (Susie) Alber, Independence, Sue (Bruce Michels) Alber, Independence, Kenneth (Kelly) Alber, Manchester, and Rick (Katie Weber) Alber, Independence; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arlen and Roger Buhr.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Independence, with the Rev. Kurt Bockoven officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, and from 9 a.m. till services Monday at the church.
