Akerly, Patricia Ann

Patricia Ann Akerly, 65, of 1317 H Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, at Mercy Medical Center after a long illness. Services at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.

Survivors include her husband, Richard; a son, Rich Jr. of Cedar Rapids; and two daughters, Debra (Randy) Corum of Shellsburg, and Shelley Wagner of Cedar Rapids.

She is also survived by five grandchildren, Randy, Ariel, Zach, Ryan and Nikki; a sister-in-law, Peggy; two nephews, Dave and Billy; a niece, Vickie; and special friends, Donna, Judy, Barb, Carroll, Mary, Georgette, Michael, Juanita, Agnes, George, Dick, Roger, Ruth, Gloria, John, Brian, P.J., Jim, Sherry and everyone at LIFTS.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ronnie.

Pat was born on Nov. 12, 1945, in Tiffin. She married Richard J. Akerly on June 13, 1964, in Lancaster, Mo. Pat was a day care provider and was a substitute teacher for many years. She enjoyed baking, cooking, listening to country music, collecting angels and shopping at Walmart.

Pat was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

A memorial fund has been established in Pat's name.
