Ahrendsen, Betty
Betty Ahrendsen, 73, of Anamosa, died Sunday afternoon, Dec. 12, 2010, at the Edgewood Convalescent Home, following a brief illness. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 17, at Oakwood Cemetery. The Rev Lori Riley will officiate at the service. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three children, Bonnie Smock of Anamosa, Randy Lee of Belle Plaine, and Michael John Ahrendsen of Anamosa; two grandchildren, Shawn Calhoun and Zach Smock; and two great-grandchildren, Kyleigh and Destiny. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Martin; a son, Martin Joseph; two brothers; and three sisters.
Betty Ahrendsen was born Feb. 21, 1939, at Monticello, Iowa. On Dec. 31, 1954, Betty married her husband, Martin in Ocracoke, Ill. The couple lived in Anamosa, where he worked as a truck driver for the Jones County Roads Department.
She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
