AGNES THOMAS Cedar Rapids Agnes T. Thomas, 86, of Cedar Rapids, died at her home Thursday morning, Nov. 26, 2015. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church by Father Christopher Podhajsky. Burial: St. John's Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday and after 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. A rosary begins at 4 p.m. Monday at the church. Papich-Kuba Funeral Service is serving the family. Agnes is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Michael) Robinson, Fargo, N.D.; sister, Helen (Roger) Blietz, Cedar Rapids; brothers, Anthony Roman, Louis (Mary Lou) Roman and George (Cecilia) Roman, all of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents, Frank and Mary (Prochaska) Roman; and siblings, Frank Roman, Mary Berger, Anne Milota and Joseph Roman. Agnes was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. She married Harold E. Thomas on Jan. 28, 1950, in Cedar Rapids. He died Nov. 2, 2007. Agnes was employed at Collins Radio Co. and later Rockwell Collins Co. for 30 years, retiring in 1984. Agnes was a devoted member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, attending Mass several times a week, and helping with various church activities, including taking Holy Communion to homebound parishioners. She also enjoyed flower gardening and working puzzles. Floral arrangements need to be delivered directly to the church on Monday. Memorial contributions may be given to Hospice of Mercy and St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.papich-kubafs.com under "obituaries."
