Agnes Mabel Heiak was born Oct. 20, 1923, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Caroline (Earsa) Heiak. Following graduation in 1941 from Wilson High School in Cedar Rapids, she worked for Collins Radio. On Sept. 29, 1943, she married Cletus D. Barry in a ceremony in Cedar Rapids. The couple moved near Tiffin, where they began a life together on the farm. This was the life she loved and was so proud of as she was one who believed hard work was just a way of life. She enjoyed her large vegetable gardens, spending time with neighbors and dear friends to play cards and to enjoy good food, and cherished lifelong friendships.
Aggie was one to lend a hand to anyone, anytime, as many will remember she was simply a very dear, kind and caring soul!
Her family includes her daughter and her best friend, Janet; brother, George Heiak of Cedar Rapids; sister, Velma Kadera of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Terri Williams (Pat), Jim Maurer, Dean Kadera and Becky Bream (Don); and a number of great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Helen Maurer; and nephew, Philip Maurer.
