Adrienne Rickels, 74, of Olin, passed away Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, at her home. Graveside services will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, at Forest Hill Cemetery, rural Anamosa. Friends and family may call from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin.
Adrienne, "Ade," was born July 4, 1940, to parents, Arthur and Kristin (Matejka) Schnepp in Anamosa, Iowa. She graduated with the class of 1958 from Olin High School. Adrienne was very artistic and enjoyed doing crafts, painting, cross-stitching and cooking. She also loved spending time with her dog, Jack, and teaching him new tricks.
Adrienne is survived by her close friend, Greg Gerdes of Olin; her children, Dan (Mary Beth) Moore of Anamosa, Denise (Don) McCrea of Olin, Mike (Sheila) Moore of Oxford Junction and Ben (Amy) Rickels of North Liberty; stepchildren, Randy (Linda) Rickels of
Beloit, Wis., Debbie (Gary)
Olsen of Janesville, Wis., Jerry (Neya) Rickels of Anamosa, Bobby Jo (Bill) Halstead and Paula Gerdes, both of North Liberty; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren on the way, and her beloved dog, Jack.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russel "Bud" Rickels; her parents; one brother, Stewart Schnepp; one sister, Sandy Thornburg; and a granddaughter, Abby Jo.
