Adonis Alexander
ADONIS M. ALEXANDER Cedar Rapids On Friday, Jan. 13, 2017, Adonis Martel Alexander went to be with his Lord after a long battle with cancer. Adonis was born Feb. 12, 1983, in Waterloo, Iowa. He attended Washington High School in Cedar Rapids. He married Nicki Kay Even on April 6, 2012. He had two children, who were the reason for his existence, Avyanna Kay, age 4, and Armoni Martel Lee, age 18 months. Adonis loved football, cooking, music and the USC Trojans, but most of all, being with his friends and family. Adonis is survived by his wife and children, along with his mother, Brenda Alexander, and stepfather, Allen Simmons, all of Cedar Rapids, and stepfather, Willie Jones of Waterloo. He also is survived by his sister, Jasmine Jones and friend Nick Yasa; brothers, Mario Jones and wife Megan, all of Cedar Rapids, William Jones and wife Alisha of Centerville and Justice Niehaus, currently serving in the U.S. Navy. A memorial fund has been established in his children's names. Online condolences may be conveyed at www.cedarmemorial.com. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 17, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Entombment will follow in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
