Adney, Darlene I.
Darlene I. Adney, 77, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Jan. 15, 2010, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Deacon Gene Price. Friends may call one hour before the service at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her sons, Kenneth Blackburn and Gerald Blackburn; eight stepchildren; five grandchildren; many stepgrandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a brother, Leroy Blackburn; and several nieces and nephews.
Darlene was preceded in death by her husband, Walter; parents; and five siblings.
Born Nov. 14, 1932, in Toddville, Iowa, Darlene was the daughter of Walter and Bessie (Jellison) Blackburn. On July 10, 1961, she was united in marriage to Walter Adney. He died in 1979. Darlene worked at Mercy Medical Center.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
