Adeline L. Rompot, 92, of Hiawatha, went to be with
her Lord and Savior on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at Crestview Acres, Marion.
A funeral service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 9, at Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids, with burial following in
Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the chapel.
Survivors include her daughters, Carol (Don Harrigan) Goff of Northbrook, Ill., Elaine (Pete) Gunn of Alburnett and Linda Totten of Hiawatha; a son, Robert Rompot of Hiawatha; two grandchildren, April Goff and Marshall Totten; and a brother, Marvin Hilmer of Indiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond, in 2008; four brothers; and three sisters.
Adeline Louise Hilmer was born April 20, 1925, in rural Allamakee County, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur and Edna (Hesse) Hilmer. On March 24, 1948, she married Raymond Rompot in Marion, Iowa. She worked as a registered nurse for many years.
Adeline enjoyed family, gardening, walking and especially her church and church family.
She will be greatly missed by all who loved and knew her.
The family would like to especially thank all the staff at Crestview Acres for the love and care they gave Adeline during her stay.
