Adeline Deloris Jensen, 83, of Cedar Rapids, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home. Funeral services will take place on Friday, Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories, with a one-hour visitation at the chapel. Burial will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Adeline was born Feb. 7, 1935, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Joseph and Thelma (Moen) Skaim. She married Robert (Bob) Jensen in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, on April 18, 1957. He passed away in 1983. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Adeline worked at Collins Radio and Downing Box. She was a devoted homemaker and a hard worker. Adeline was very proud of her Norwegian heritage. She enjoyed music, singing, dancing, cooking, bird watching, animals and spending time with her beloved family. Family times were very meaningful to Adeline and she absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Time spent with family during the holidays was special to Adeline, especially Christmas. Adeline had a smile for everyone she met and will be missed by all.
Adeline is survived by her children, Jackie (Michael) Simoens, Mark (Cindy) Jensen, Matthew Jensen and Terrie (Kevin) Taylor, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ross Jensen of St. Paul Park, Minn., and Holly (Jim) Moore and Kimberly (Kenny) Philipp, all of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; many loving great-grandchildren; six sisters, Gladys Howe of Waterloo, Iowa, Jan Lein of Onalaska, Wis., Lorraine (Larry) Schumacher of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Markeata Schuler of Waterloo, Iowa, Anna Marie (Jerry) Ewing of Waterville, Iowa, and Darlene Klein (Mert) of Waukon, Iowa; three brothers, Harry (Dorene) Larson of McGregor, Iowa, Daryl (Ellen) Larson of Waverly, Iowa, and David (Linda) Larson of Trenton, N.J.; and many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sisters, Millie Daniels and Thelma Sampson; and a brother, Clark Larson.
