Adams, Daren 'Dave' F.
Daren “Dave” F. Adams, 77, died Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009, at his Palo residence following an extended illness. Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone with the Rev. Dr. James Eggert officiating. Burial of cremains will be at Keystone Cemetery in Keystone, with graveside military rites conducted by Merkel-Bockholt American Legion Post 107 of Keystone. Phillips Funeral Home in Keystone is in charge of arrangements.
Dave was born Sept. 17, 1932, at Thurston, Neb., to Lockwood and Irene Mae (Criss) Adams. During the Korean conflict he served his nation in the U.S. Navy. On March 18, 1961, he was united in marriage to DeLores Cohrt at St. John Lutheran Church in Keystone. Dave was employed as a machinist at FMC, Iowa Precision and Collins. He also farmed and operated his own auto shop. He enjoyed boating and using his talents and ability for invention.
He is survived by his wife, DeLores of Palo; his children, Denise (Steve) Burgin of Palo, Cheryl Adams of Bartlett, Ill., and Dean Adams and friend Richie Wagaman of Shellsburg; his son-in-law, Jim Stoneking of Ely; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Dareell (Marcia) Adams of Iowa City and Clark David Adams of Ladora.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kimberly Stoneking.
